Hospital Vozandes del Oriente is a primary care hospital with 28 inpatient beds attended by a staff of four family practice doctors, three general surgeons, 2 anesthesiologists, one pediatrician and one ophthalmologist.  About 15,000 outpatients, 7,000 emergency patients and 1,200 inpatients are served each year.
